ノスタルジックな上映会にようこそ！
「ホームムービーの日 in 東京府中」は、東京都府中市で、8mmフィルムの発掘と無料上映活動を行なっています。
府中は、都心から少し離れた多摩エリアにあります。古の歴史を持つ大國魂神社を中心に、昔ながらの街道、建物、畑が残るのどかな町です。
そんな府中で、くらしとアートの架け橋となる活動を続けるNPO法人アーティスト・コレクティヴ・フチュウ（ACF）のネットワークに所属するフィルム好きが集まり、8mmフィルムを発掘し、上映する活動を始めました。2024年には、ACFの写真部とともに任意団体「むさし府中アルキヴィオ」を立ち上げ、ホームムービーや古写真を地域の知的財産として保存・活用できるアーカイブ設立という目標を新たにして活動を続けています。
1950年〜80年代、人々は家族の記録や自主映画を8mmフィルムという小さなフィルムで撮影しました。
フィルムには、ひと昔前の人々の営みがしっかりと記録されていました。
映写機をカタカタと鳴らしながら、今日もどこかで昔の府中が映し出されています...。
お家に眠っている古い8mmフィルムを上映してみませんか？
押し入れの奥にしまわれた小さな映像フィルムは、人に魔法をかけるタイムカプセルです。
なぜかというと...
・むかしを知る人々の記憶を呼び覚ます
・地域の貴重な歴史・文化資料として後世に残る
・もしかしたら、世紀の大発見になるかもしれない！
（最後は少々おおげさですが、例えば、小津安二郎が戦前に監督した『突貫小僧』。上映フィルムが存在しないと思われていましたが、かつて小型映画として普及していたため個人によって保管され、時を経て発見されたというケースもあります。）

運営資金サポートとしての寄付も大歓迎です。
ホームムービーは著作権や肖像権が曖昧なため、基本的に上映会は無料で開催しています。
今後は、出張上映、ワークショップ、助成金などの収益化も目指していますが、私たちの活動を応援してくださる方からのご寄付も大きな助けになります。
いただいた金額は、機材メンテナンス、会場設営費、印刷費、人件費など、継続のための経費に使わせていただきます。

Welcome to Nostalgic Screenings!
"Home Movie Day in Fuchu, Tokyo" is a local initiative dedicated to discovering and hosting free screenings of forgotten 8mm films in Fuchu City, Tokyo.
Fuchu is located in the Tama area, just a short distance from central Tokyo. Centered around the ancient Okunitama Shrine, it is a charming town where traditional streets, historic architecture, and lush farmland still remain.

In 2024, alongside ACF's Photography Division, we established "Musashi Fuchu Archivio." Our new goal is to build a regional archive that preserves and utilizes home movies and vintage photographs as valuable cultural heritage for the community.
From the 1950s through the 1980s, people captured family memories and independent films on small 8mm film reels. These reels hold vivid records of everyday life from decades past.
With the gentle clicking of the projector, old Fuchu comes alive on screen once again...
Have old 8mm films tucked away at home?
Those small film reels hidden deep in your closet are magical time capsules.
Why?
They awaken forgotten memories for those who lived through those times.
They preserve irreplaceable local history and culture for future generations.
They might even lead to a major historic discovery!
(That last point might sound like an exaggeration, but it happens! For instance, Yasujiro Ozu's pre-war film "A Straightforward Boy" was long thought to be lost forever. However, because small format films were widely distributed to homes, a surviving copy was discovered decades later in a private collection.)

Our coordinator (Ai Mabuchi) will safely inspect the condition of your film.

Because rights and permissions for family home movies are often complex, our screenings are almost always hosted free of charge.
While we are working toward sustainability through pop-up screenings, workshops, and grants, community donations play a vital role in keeping our project alive. Your support helps cover equipment maintenance, venue setup, printing, and administrative expenses.
