府中市美術館併設カフェ「府中乃森珈琲店」で、毎夏開催される「森の夕涼み会」。

今年も４回目の参加です。
夕暮れとともに浮かび上がる映像を楽しむ「夕暮れ上映会」はなんと５回目。
このような機会をいただいて、感謝するばかりです。

今年は雨天のため、急遽室内でのセッティングに。 

カフェの白壁に映写する予定でしたが、展示中の作品を動かすのは忍びなく、窓際の透過性ロールスクリーンへスクリーンを変更しました。すると、外の森の風景とホームムービーが透けて重なり合い、思いがけず幻想的な世界が広がりました。

まだ外が明るい時間帯。現代の森と昭和の映像が多重露光のように交差する空間に、Nozomiさんの童謡が美しく響き渡り、まるで非日常の世界に迷い込んだかのよう。 

Nozomiさんのライブの後ろでは、アーティストのサゴイシオリさんによる昼間のワークショップで制作された子どもたちのアートワークが揺れていました。

そして日の入りを過ぎて外が暗くなると、今度はホームムービーの映像だけがくっきりと浮かび上がります。

フィルムの持ち主の方による生解説から、府中に住まう人々の貴重な記憶を分けてもらった夜。若い世代の方々にも楽しんでいただけた、とても素敵なひとときとなりました。

今年も、この季節がやってきました。

そして毎日、暑いです。

おかげさまで府中乃森珈琲店は、この夏で6周年を迎えます。

2020年、コロナ禍の始まりとともにオープンした小さなカフェ。たくさんの出会いに支えられながら、この場所で季節を重ねてきました。

毎年夏に開催している「森の夕涼み会」は、日頃お世話になっている皆さまへ感謝をお伝えしたいという想いから始まった、小さなお祭りです。

この日だけは、お客様もスタッフも、地域の皆さんも、垣根なく同じ時間を楽しめる一日になればと思っています。

昨年は昼間に作った色水のランタンを記念樹に灯して、お祝いしましたね。

今年はどんな景色になるのでしょう。

夕暮れの木々に灯るあかり。
子どもたちの笑い声。
かき氷を片手に語らう時間。

今年も皆さんと一緒に、この夏だけの風景をつくれたら嬉しいです。

Twilight Screening Vol.5 | FUCHU NO MORI COFFEE 6th Anniversary "Forest Evening Breeze Festival" 2026

Every summer, the "Forest Evening Breeze Festival" is held at FUCHU NO MORI COFFEE, a cozy cafe attached to the Fuchu Art Museum. This year marks our 4th time participating in the event!

Even more special, this was the 5th edition of the "Twilight Screening"—a magical experience where moving images gently float into view as dusk falls. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful tradition.

Due to rain this year, we quickly moved the setup indoors.

Initially, we planned to project the films onto the cafe’s white wall. However, wanting to respect the art pieces currently on display, we decided to use the translucent roll blinds by the window instead. This turned out to be a happy accident: the lush green forest outside blended seamlessly with the home movies, creating an unexpectedly dreamlike scene.

While it was still twilight, the modern forest landscape and the retro Showa-era footage overlapped like a multi-exposure photograph. Accompanied by the soothing melodies of Nozomi, it felt as though we had stepped into another dimension. Behind Nozomi’s performance, colorful artworks created by children during artist Shiori Sagoi's daytime workshop swayed gently.

As the sun fully set and darkness wrapped around us, the home movie footage began to stand out with vivid clarity.

With live commentary from the film’s owner, it was an unforgettable night spent sharing precious memories of the people of Fuchu. We were thrilled to see so many young audience members enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere as well.
